What is Oncue?
Oncue is a business-facing sales and operations platform designed to help moving companies of all sizes run their businesses as effectively as possible.
Oncue supports moving companies with a U.S.-based sales team focused solely on booking jobs and managing customers.
The company’s slogan is “We Book For You”. That pretty much sums it up.
Key Projects
The analytics dashboard and the mobile app are two of the dozens of projects I worked on while at Oncue.
As the first design hire and sole UX/UI Designer, I helped drive the company from initial platform launch and MVP to seed funding and a team of 25+.
I led design and contributed heavily to product strategy and direction through close collaboration with leadership, sales, and engineering.
Process
As the solo designer, I operated on two to three-week sprints ahead of and in collaboration with the developers.
I researched, designed, tested, and built new features, all while interfacing with developers on previously designed features.
When designing or redesigning features for the web app, the process is generally as follows:
Discuss feature roadmap and establish need based on client feedback or by analyzing platform data
Audit current design of feature or features with similar functionality
Establish parameters for feature based on discussion with developers and understanding of code limitations
UI sketching and mockup design with interaction design
Feedback and design iteration
High fidelity design and developer handoff
Refine and repeat!
